Missoula Montana

Missoula is nick named the Garden City because of the mild winters compared to the rest of Montana. Missoula suffering growing pains and the populations is on the rise. Home of the University of Montana we have a lot of student age residents that like to ride mountain bikes, ski, hunt, fish, drift rivers and hike. Missoula is an exciting community with great diversity of activities which presents many opportunities for families and individuals seeking to experience the Montana quality of life.  Located in the Rocky Mountains of western Montana, Missoula is known in Montana as one of the more liberal of Montana’s cities.  Industries that support Missoula include: retail supply center, timber, lumber, medical, education, small business and tourism.

Missoula is located in glacial lakebed now cut by Clark Fork River. The confluence of the Bitterroot River with the Clark Fork is on the Southwest edge of town; the famed Big Blackfoot River is tributary to the Clark Fork just east of Missoula in the town of Bonner, Montana.

The University of Montana is located in Missoula, as is the Northern Region headquarters for the U.S. Forest Service. Retail trade is very important and growing. Traditional industries like logging and mining are waning in importance to Missoula. When our university students leave Missoula around June, the tourists start to arrive. Missoula is three hours south of Glacier National Park and three and a half hours west of Yellowstone National Park. So tourism between the National Parks is part of Missoula’s economic strength.

Recreating opportunities in and around Missoula are abundant and  Missoula is rich in cultural attractions ranging from symphony, arts, live theatre, historical museums, shops, galleries and numerous sporting activities and events. Beautiful homes and tree shaded lawns reflect a home lifestyle enviable in this day of big city stress and strife. Many churches, excellent elementary and high school systems both public and private, and a progressive business community enhance the balanced and healthy lifestyle enjoyed by the residents of Missoula.
