the county seat of Lewis and Clark County and the capitol of the state of
Montana. Helena is located just east of the Continental Divide in “Last Chance
Gulch” where placer gold was discovered in 1864 and brought the first white
settlers to the area. The community is in the Mountain Standard time zone. The
